Backed by his buddies from Poop, Rikk Agnew was next to take the stage. His set had songs spanning from his time with the Adolescents, D.I., Christian Death, & even his 1982 solo album, All By Myself. Toward the end of his set, Rikk brought out a surprise special guest. Original 1979 Adolescents guitarist John O'Donovan took the stage to play Creatures & Kids of the Black Hole.
Pretty cool guest.

Flyboys - Frontier Records 30th Anniversary - Live At The Echoplex
Next to the Middle Class set, this was my next favorite of the night. The Flyboys came together in Arcadia,Ca circa 1977. They released their first 7" in 1979 on their own Flyguy Records. 1980 saw the release of their self titled E.P., which was also the very first release on Frontier Records. Singer/Guitarist John Curry would later go on to write the music for The Plugz title track off their 2nd album, Better Luck.
I'm not quite sure about the exact date of the above photo, but as you can tell from their attire it was some time ago!

The Stains - Frontier Records 30th Anniversary - Live At The Echoplex
Last Nov. the Echoplex in Los Angeles hosted the Frontier Records 30th Anniversary Party. As you can see from the image above, they had a great line up put together. The image is a patch they handed out to all who attended that night. So we'll start with the Stains set. If you've never heard The Stains from East L.A. you can find their 1983 record here. They sounded great playing almost every track off their album including a cover of The Seeds classic Pushin' Too Hard. Stay tuned for the rest of the show!

NNB - Slack 7"
As with The Suburbs, NNB also hailed from Minneapolis, MN. Although they did not release much material, they have always been one of my favorites from the area. Guitarist/Vocalist Mark Freeman was the driving force of the band. With tracks up to par with the likes of Television & Pere Ubu, they have often been described as producing "a wall of sound". The Slack/New World 7" was released in 1978 on Wave 7 records. They released two tracks on the Big Hits of Middle America Volume III on Twin Tone records 1979. Lastly there was one track off the No Magazine Flexi in 1979. There's also a video of One Mat Room recorded live at Hurrah's in 1981 floating around on You Tube. I also ripped the audio from this video and have included it with the 7". Enjoy!

The Suburbs - World War III 7"
Although it took me about a year, I finally got all Riot Fest 2010 up for you. Unfortunately I wont be making the trip out to Chicago this year. Next up for the videos and live audio I got the Frontier 30th Anniversary show featuring the the Flyboys, Rikk Agnew, the Avengers, & the Middle Class just to name a few. But I'll take a little break from the videos and post a couple records, which I have not done for some time.
The Suburbs second 7" was released in 1979, again on Twin Tone records. They serve up some more poppy weirdness in the same vein as their debut E.P. They would go on to release their first full length In Combo in 1980. You can find their first record here. Enjoy!
